FAQs

LOGISTICS & TRANSFERS

Getting Here is Part of the Journey

Reaching our jungle home in Puerto Nariño is simple, and we guide you every step of the way so you can focus on the experience, not the logistics.

  • The Flight: Your journey begins with a direct 2-hour flight from Bogotá to Leticia (via LATAM or Avianca).

  • The River Connection: From Leticia, you will take a scenic 2-hour boat ride up the Amazon River to Puerto Nariño. Tip: To connect smoothly, choose flights that land in Leticia before 12:00 PM, and return flights departing in the afternoon.

  • Total Flexibility: If your flight schedule falls outside public boat hours, private boat transfers are available. You set the rhythm.

  • The Welcome: Upon landing in Puerto Nariño, we meet you for a fresh local coffee (tinto), a quick gear check, and set off straight into the wild. Please arrive dressed and ready for the jungle!

Health & Vaccines

Do I need shots or Malaria pills?

Yellow Fever (Fiebre Amarilla): The Colombian government officially requires the Yellow Fever vaccine to enter the Amazon region. However, document checks by authorities upon arrival are completely random.

Malaria & Mosquito Prevention: We operate in a very safe area with no active outbreaks in Puerto Nariño. Many foreign travel clinics suggest Malaria pills. In our honest experience, the severe side effects of these pills often ruin the expedition for travelers. Instead of medication, we strongly recommend strict bite prevention: bring a high-quality insect repellent with at least 30% DEET and wear light, breathable long-sleeved clothing. (Note: Always consult your doctor to make the best choice for your body).

Physical Effort

Do I need to be extremely fit?

Not at all. We operate an Amazonas sin prisas. We don't do forced tourist marches or extreme survival tests. Our journeys are entirely customized to your physical rhythm. Whether you crave a challenging deep-jungle hike or a slow, quiet boat ride observing wildlife, you set the pace. If a family of monkeys captivates you and you want to stop and watch them for an hour, we stay. The experience adapts to you, not the other way around.

Weather & Packing

What should I bring?

The Amazon is hot, humid, and unpredictable.

Pack lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying clothing.

Luggage & Storage: You are welcome to bring your large suitcases to Puerto Nariño; we will safely store them for you at our base. However, you must arrive with a smaller, soft travel backpack packed and ready for your first few nights at the jungle cabins.

Essential items for your backpack:

  • A headlamp for night walks.
  • A reusable water bottle.
  • Comfortable long sleaves/Pants walking clothes.

(And don't worry about buying specialized gear—we provide the rubber boots for muddy jungle walks and rain ponchos for those unpredictable Amazon downpours).

Connectivity

Will I have Wi-Fi?

We want you to experience genuine immersion, but we know staying connected is sometimes necessary. We have high-speed satellite internet available at our base in town when you need it.                                    However, during the deep jungle expeditions, you will be completely disconnected.

It is the perfect excuse to truly unplug, focus on the wildlife, and be present in the moment.
